The House of Representatives yesterday gave a third reading to the Budget measures implementation bill, the opposition voting against after a division.

The House yesterday also agreed on a motion for Tonio Borg, Leader of the House, to succeed Lawrence Gonzi as a member of the House Business Committee and the Privileges Committee.

The House also agreed that Jason Azzopardi (PN) succeed Michael Frendo as president of the Foreign Affairs Committee; that Foreign Minister John Dalli succeed Joe Borg as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and that Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech succeed John Dalli as a member of the Public Accounts Committee.

The House is adjourned to Sunday morning when the new President is sworn in. The House will then rise for the Easter recess.
