A Gozitan lost his life when he was gored by a bull at about 4 p.m. yesterday, the police said.

The man, aged 58, of Sannat, was pierced when he was tending a herd of cows in a field in Triq l-Ghaxra ta' Ottubru, in his village.

The victim's brother was in the same field at the time of the incident. The man was taken to Gozo's General Hospital where an autopsy will be carried out today.

The police are investigating. Duty Magistrate Paul Coppini appointed several experts to assist in the inquiry.
