A number of changes to the bus route network come into force on Sunday.

Malta Public Transport said it will now be operating two new routes; route 25 and route 35, in addition to existing routes 22 and 24.

Route 25 will depart from Valletta every hour towards San Gwann through Triq tal-Balal then proceed onto Triq Dun F. Camilleri and onto Triq taz-Zwejt until it reaches the Mater Dei Hospital roundabout.

Route 35 will depart from Valletta every 30 minutes towards Msida and the Skate Park roundabout. It will serve Mater Dei Hospital and the University and proceed straight to the San Gwann Industrial Estate up to Triq taz- Zwejt.

The route will then go through Triq id- 9 Ta’ Frar 1799 and down onto Triq V. Borg Bared and down towards the San Gwann Church.

“We are happy to be implementing these changes and feel they will solve a number of concerns voiced by bus users," Malta Public Transport Commercial Director Daniel Grech said.

Other changes to the route network include: Route 250 which will be starting its journey from Mellieha Bay (Għadira) rather than from Cirkewwa. The route will terminate in Valletta.

Route X3 will pass through Psaila Street in Birkirkara instead of Valley Road increasing connectivity for residents in the area.

Route 119 will be extended to the Power Station in Delimara and route Route 213 extended to Rinella.
