A private contractor, who was carrying out works in Garcin Alley c/w Valley Road, Msida, yesterday morning damaged an underground power cable, Enemalta Corporation said.

The damaged cable caused the electricity supply to be interrupted in parts of Msida, Birkirkara and Sta Venera.

Measures were taken in hand immediately to restore power, the corporation said.
