Café del Mar party cancelled following bomb scare

Police and AFM evacuated the party for Malta Music Week

A party at Café del Mar was cut short on Wednesday night after a bomb scare  forced the popular poolside venue to evacuate its clientele.

Police said that they were informed of the bomb threat at around 9pm, and they, along with the Armed Forces, asked party goers to leave the St Paul’s Bay premises.

By 2 am, authorities confirmed that there were no explosives around or in the venue, which was due to host a party for Malta Music Week, a series of events around Isle of MTV.

Australian DJ duo NERVO were supposed to headline the night, but had already cancelled saying they missed their flight to Malta.  However the event was still due to go ahead until the bomb scare led to its cancellation.
