The racist chanting aimed at Samuel Eto'o by Cagliari fans on Sunday has cost the Serie A club 25,000 euros.

Cagliari were fined the sum by the Italian league after match officials opted to temporarily halt their game against Inter Milan just three minutes in due to the level of abuse aimed at Eto'o.

The Cameroon striker, who no longer brings his family to watch him in Italy due to racist chanting, went on to have the last laugh, scoring the only goal of the game to give Inter the win.
