Alternattiva Demokratika said all efforts should be made to protect a cave in Gharb.

The cave was discovered as works were being carried out by Gharb local council on a street and square.

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority and Heritage Malta had wanted to conserve the cave from damage and MEPA issued an enforcement notice.

AD said ways should be found to minimise any damage that may have been done to the cave.
