Alternattiva Demokratika has expressed concern over statistics which show that tourists spent Lm7 million less in Malta and nearly Lm700,000 less in Gozo in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period in 2003. The statistics, published by the National Statistics Office, also show that tourists are spending less per head than before, AD noted.

AD's spokesman on finances and tourism, Edward Fenech, called for the formulation of a serious plan for the development of tourism in which all stakeholders are involved.
