Nature Trust (Malta) has welcomed the government's move to install cameras in well known illegal dumping areas.

The initiative follows the removal of 580 tonnes of waste collected from close to Ghar Hasan and the repeated dumping there after clean-ups by Birzebbuga council.

Nature Trust called on the government to raise fines for dumping infringements and is lobbying for the introduction of 'green' wardens.
