Qormi 3
Msida 0
Qormi cruised to an easy 3-0 victory over newly-promoted Msida St Joseph this afternoon to stretch their unbeaten start to three matches.
This was Msida's first competitive outing of the season after the Saints replaced demoted Vittoriosa Stars in the Premier League.
Qormi started the game on the attack. Manuel Bartolo, the Msida goalkeeper, did well to keep out a powerful drive from Steve Wellman but six minutes into the match, Qormi went ahead. Brazilian striker Camilo da Silva burst through the static Msida defence and drilled a low shot past Bartolo.
With Msida failing to make a reaction, it was Qormi who went close to increasing their lead but Camilo's grounder came off the far post. Qormi continued to dictate matters in the second period with Camilo causing all sorts of problems to the Msida defence.
The Brazilian doubled his team's lead midway into the second half. Having been put through by Massimo Grima, Camilo sped forward and guided the ball past Bartolo.
Camilo completed his hat-trick eight minutes from time, scoring with another clinical finish after getting on the end of a headed clearance by Qormi team-mate Ramon Dos Santos.
