The youth sections of Nature Trust and BirdLife Malta will hold activities at Baystreet on Sunday to underline the importance of renewable energy.

The two organisations said there was need for a greater national effort to introduce and sustain the use of renewable energy in electricity generation, particularly since demand for power was continually on the rise, particularly in summer.

The local events will be part of an international campaign coordinated by Youth and Environment Europe (YEE), a federation of European youth environmental NGOs to which both youth NGOs are affiliated.
