OVER the past year Campus FM has provided a window on the activities of the University and the work being done by the academic staff and students. Hundreds of academics and students participated in programmes wherein they shared their expertise and promoted initiatives and projects happening on campus. Organisations were given airtime to promote their agendas and issues, while students were given a chance to earn extra-curricular credits through placements in audio technical work, marketing and programme production.
Furthermore, the station also provided studio time to hundreds of students from faculties such as Education, Engineering, Laws, Theology, Arts and Communications for them to work on assignments, dissertations and other projects related to their academic work.
Campus FM has also been organising orientation visits to the station for secondary schools. It has enhanced its coverage with new transmission equipment and has also invested in the latest transmission and digital production technology. Its broadcasts are streamed on internet along with a number of programme series which can be found on the Internet as audio-on-demand.
Campus FM has collaborated with Public Broadcasting Services and Voice of the Mediterranean for the exchange of programmes and has also integrated the BBC World Service in its programming.
