Close to 700 university students have subscribed to the Campus SMS service since its launch by the University Students' Council in the first week of October 2003.
In October alone, subscribers received over 8,000 messages by SMS, including notifications such as faculty announcements, lecture changes, student news, payment alerts, deadline reminders, job opportunities, travel offers and more. KSU, in collaboration with KSJC, socratxt.com and Solutions - a Young Enterprise team, have now extended the service to the Junior College.
Notifications are customised by each subscriber. Students also receive exclusive special offers on travel opportunities, selected books and various other value-added offers.
Solutions has set up a stand in the foyer of the Junior College for registration to the service. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow.
