The film Nothing Girl by Pierre Daudelin of Canada has won the Golden Knight in Class A at this year's 43rd edition of the Golden Knight International Film Festival organised by the Malta Cine Circle.
The winning films will be screened at the auditorium of St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta on November 30 and from December 1 to 3 at 7.30 p.m. on the four nights.
Entries for the festival were received from Europe, the United States, the Far East, Israel and Iran.
The Malta Cine Circle was founded in 1952 with the aim of fostering the hobby of amateur film-making. It also aims at helping the average picturegoer understand the skills and techniques of cinematography and gain a better appreciation of the art of cinema.
The other winners in Class A were Ebene by Film Club Reinickendorf, Germany, which won the Silver Knight and Mutter by Oskar Siebert of Germany which won the Bronze Knight.
The award for the best documentary was won by Barbara and Bernhard Zimmermann of Germany with their documentary Dickens and Daughter.
The award for the best film from Malta went to Ward 66 by Angelique Muller and Cathleen Tanti.
This year's panel of judges was composed of Fr Saviour Chircop, Charles Stroud, Gloria Lauri Lucente, Alan Meadows and Tony Mangion.
