This year's World AIDS Day campaign in Malta is being co-ordinated by the Malta Medical Students Association (MMSA).
These include a fund-raising treasure hunt in Mdina today, a freshers' talk and debate on Tuesday,
On Wednesday, World AIDS Day proper, a tent will be set up in the main square of the University campus. Here free cake, coffee and tea are given out to the students present, and leaflets will be distributed, while MMSA will talk to students about reproductive health.
An outreach will be taking place on campus during the day.
In the evening, together with the Malta Gay Rights Movement, MMSA is holding a candle walk from Republic Square (Piazza Regina) in Valletta. at 6.45 p.m. up Republic Street to Freedom Square, where MGRM co-ordinator Sandro Mangion and MMSA's National Officer on Reproductive Health and AIDS Roxanna Caruana will deliver short messages.
MGRM and MMSA are inviting all those who are sensitive to the plight of those afflicted by HIV/AIDS and to the need of more education regarding the prevention of sexually-transmitted infections to meet up at 6.30 p.m. and bring a candle along with them.
