Transport Malta has reopened the grant scheme on the purchase of new environment friendly vehicles.

€200,000 have been allocated. Applications for the grant which will be processed on a first come first served basis.

892 vehicles benefitted from the original €700,000 allocated.

Vehicle owners who apply for the scheme are entitled to between €700 and €900 upon scrapping an old vehicle and buying a new car of the same category whose CO2 emissions do not exceed 130g/km and its length does not exceed 4,460mm.

Applications are available from Transport Malta, Vehicle Licensing Unit, Hornsworks Ditch, Floriana or downloaded from here.

The grant scheme to encourage the purchase of Battery Electric Vehicles and Battery Electric Quadricycles is still available.
