Valletta is renowned for its historical monuments, but this has-been might just be a step too far.

These photos were sent in to timesofmalta.com by Antoinette Elichati, who said that this burnt shell of a vehicle has been sitting on Old Hospital street for the past two weeks.

Ms Elichati contacted timesofmalta.com after trying - and failing - to get authorities to act. She said both Valletta local council and the police seemed unwilling to act.

A local council official told her that removing the wreck was the police’s responsibility. But that led to a dead end.

“I called the police and they told me that it’s the owner’s responsibility. I told them that they, the police, should make the owner remove it.”

"Everyone keeps passing the buck," a frustrated Ms Elichati wrote.

Attempts to contact Valletta local council for comment proved unsuccessful.
