The opening two matches of the Carlsberg tournament were played yesterday at the Hibs Ground.

Hibernians were held to a 1-1 draw by Msida St Joseph in the first match. Terence Scerri gave the Paolites the lead but Daniel Nwoke equalised for Msida. In the second match, a Mark Galea second-half goal was enough for Valletta to beat Pietà Hotspurs 1-0. Tomorrow's matches: 6 p.m. Hibs vs Pietà; 8 p.m. Valletta vs Msida.
