The National Folklore Commission of the Tourism and Culture Ministry has launched new competitions in Section D for Carnival 2005.

The aim of the new competitions is to encourage the participation of youths and associations who do not normally take part in the Maltese Carnival.

The competitions are for Dancing Companies, Maskeruni, floats and bands.

Apart from these there will also be other competitions to expose talents. Participation can be made through decorated vehicles, karozzini, carts, decorated bicycles and individuals or groups of individuals in costume.

Applications are to be made at 230, Casa Gaspe, Republic Street, Valletta by 4 .m. on October 19.
