Nadur launched its carnival activities on February 26 with a Mr King/Ms Queen Carnival competition held at the MBC Theatre.
Nadur council organised a carnival parade at St Peter and St Paul Square last Sunday.
The show featured people wearing animal costumes, children in colourful costumes, masked revellers, dancing, and floats.
The parade ended with the traditional kukkanja, as well as a new smaller kukkanja, organised especially for primary schoolchildren.
The crowd also enjoyed a traditional spontaneous carnival sketch with masked participants.
Each participant received a carnival memento presented by Nadur mayor Miriam Portelli.
Among the spectators was Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said, who is the former mayor of Nadur.
