Do not believe those complaints about poor bus service, rudeness of drivers or abuse in restaurants (August 6). It is just whining.

Having lived and travelled around Malta for over six years I have never encountered any of the above. On the contrary, I am continually amazed at the patience bus drivers exhibit towards the bumbling tourists who often climb aboard a bus with tote bags containing a month of supplies and want to pay in any currency but Maltese liri; ditto for restaurants - the standard of service is very high and if anyone experiences a disappointment, there is a choice.
