A public protest calling for justice in the wake of the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia is to be held today at 1.30pm outside the law courts.

It follows a candle-lit vigil in Sliema yesterday, where the focus was on mourning for the blogger, who was killed by a car bomb.

Today's activity is being organised by the Civil Society Network - Malta.

Last week, Chief Justice Silvio Camilleri called for the rule of law to be safeguarded and enforced, stressing that it was the cornerstone of democracy.

“The laws need to be enforced by the authorities empowered to do so,” he said, referring to the police, the Attorney General, and the courts.

The prime minister later said that he had 'noted' the chief justice's comments.
