We have learned, with great sadness, of the closure of Cat Care. We, on behalf of the public, would like to thank Mignonne and her organisation for the years of selfless dedication to the welfare of stray animals.
Our organisation, Stray Animals Support Group, whose members have been involved in animal welfare for several years, was set up to offer help and support to animal lovers involved in the care of stray animals.
Now, with the help of a German organisation, also involved in the welfare of stray animals, we are aiming to carry on Cat Care's excellent work. We shall be issuing vouchers to neuter/spay cat colonies. We can provide traps and post-operative care. Carers and feeders who need help may contact us on 7957-5765.
The German organisation is also trying to lease some land or old farm buildings which could be converted into a cat refuge. This would preferably be situated in the northern part of the island. If anyone can help please contact us on the above number.
To achieve our aim we shall need support from animal lovers. Anyone who wishes to help in any way is asked to contact us. Donations can be made directly to BOV Account No. 40013308393.
