I met the distinguished gentleman in my years of post-graduate studies in Rome. He was very well informed about Malta.

Senator Andreotti's lifetime of loyalty to the Catholic Church calls to mind Pope Benedict XVI's recent call for a new generation of Catholic politicians who "would be coherent with their professed faith", morally upright, professional and passionate about serving the common good.
