A Qormi man was handed down an 18-month suspended jail term for causing Lm1,934 damage to a man's car.

Owen Zammit, 29, pleaded guilty to damaging Gordon Cassar's car, threatening him and breaching the peace on April 3.

On handing down judgement Magistrate Saviour Demicoli noted that Mr Zammit had filed an early guilty plea and had consented to pay for the damage caused within 18 months.

The magistrate also bound Mr Zammit not to approach Mr Cassar against a Lm100 fine in default.

Police Inspector Maria Stella Cutajar prosecuted.
