CCF's Lombard shares transferred

In a company announcement on Wednesday, Lombard Bank Malta plc stated that it has been notified that the regulatory approvals have been obtained to enable Banca Unione di Credito to acquire 1,043,888 shares of the bank's issued ordinary share capital from CCF Holding (Suisse) S.A. and Handelsfinanz-CCF Bank. These shares changed hands during Thursday's session over three deals, all at Lm3.958, for a total value of Lm4,131,708. These shares make up 26.73% of the total shares in issue.

One deal opened the week for Bank of Valletta, as 2,500 shares changed hands at Lm3, leaving the closing price unchanged from the previous reading. Tuesday's session saw three deals being struck between Lm3 and Lm3.05, at which price trading closed.

There was no trading in Bank of Valletta shares on Wednesday and Thursday, while on Friday two deals where struck, with the session closing at Lm3.03. A total of 3,580 shares changed hands, over six deals during the week. Following Friday's session, 2,287 shares at Lm3 and 750 shares at Lm3.02 were the best outstanding bids and offers respectively.

Maltacom shares lost 1c1 following the first trading session of the week, after 9,000 shares changed hands in the session, which closed at Lm1.239. Further losses were registered on Tuesday, as 20 deals were struck between Lm1.235 and Lm1.20, bringing the closing price down by 3c9.

The situation calmed down from Wednesday's trading session, with only eight deals being struck till the end of the week, which ended on Lm1.22. A total of 55,998 shares were traded over the week. At the close of business on Friday, best bids of 2,840 shares at Lm1.201 stood against best offers of 2,400 shares at Lm1.22.

In a company announcement issued on Monday, Globe Financial Management plc published a list of resolutions which were passed during an extraordinary general meeting of the company held on May 24.

An extraordinary resolution authorised some changes to the memorandum of association of the company, while two ordinary resolutions authorised the issue of 34,860,279 shares to British American (in consideration other than cash) and the purchase of the property at 120, The Strand, Gzira (for Lm2,070,000) respectively.

The other equities which traded during the week are shown hereunder, followed by the price range in which trading was struck: 1,500 shares in Globe Financial Management plc between Lm0.25 and Lm0.235; 2,300 shares in HSBC Bank Malta plc between Lm3.99 and Lm4; 3,620 shares in International Hotels plc between Lm0.845 and Lm0.850; 180 shares in Middle Sea Insurance plc at Lm2.38 (put-through market); 4,008 shares in Simonds Farsons Cisk plc between Lm0.64 and Lm0.645.

No trading was registered in Suncrest Hotels, Plaza Centres, Fimbank and Datatrak.

Trading over the week in corporate bonds was made up of the following:

¤ Three deals struck in the 6.15% Bank of Valletta 2010, in which a nominal value of Lm11,600 changed hands at Lm102.50.

¤ One deal struck in the 8% Bank of Valletta 2010 (USD), in which a nominal value of $3,500 changed hands at $109.50.

¤ Two deals struck in the 6.5% Corinthia Finance 2010 (EUR), in which a nominal value of 63,000 changed hands at 6100.

¤ Five deals struck in the 6.7% Corinthia Finance 2009, in which a nominal value of Lm12,100 changed hands between Lm102.25 and Lm102.99.

¤ Three deals struck in the 6.75% Corinthia Finance 2012, in which a nominal value of Lm3,000 changed hands between Lm100.50 and Lm100.75.

¤ One deal struck in the 6.7% Eden Finance 2010, in which a nominal value of Lm10,000 changed hands Lm99.60.

¤ Two deals struck in the 6.15% Gasan Finance 2003/4, in which a nominal value of Lm5,000 changed hands between Lm101 and Lm101.35.

¤ Six deals struck in the 6.5% Gasan Finance 2006/9, in which a nominal value of Lm4,200 changed hands between Lm100 and Lm101.

¤ Two deals struck in the 7.5% San Antonio 2012, in which a nominal value of Lm6,000 changed hands at Lm100.

¤ Two deals struck in the 7.25% HSBC 2005, in which a nominal value of Lm1,700 changed hands between Lm105.50 and Lm106.

¤ Two deals struck in the 8.25% Suncrest 2005/7, in which a nominal value of Lm2,000 changed hands between Lm102 and Lm104.95.

The MSE share index dropped by 8.388 points, or 0.41%, over the week, and now stands at 2,034.923.

Total Malta Government Stock turnover over the week amounted to a nominal value of Lm627,600 being struck in 37 deals over 18 different stocks.
