Celta Vigo's return to the top flight could be in danger after the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced they would be opening an investigation into accusations the club fielded an ineligible player.
Celta clinched a spot in the Primera Liga last weekend after a 3-1 victory at Xerez but promotion rivals Alaves, Cadiz and Recreativo Huelva have complained to the RFEF that Toni Moral was not eligible to play in the match.
In the past teams found guilty of fielding ineligible players have been fined and deducted three points. If this happened to Celta they would have to win this weekend's match at home to Eibar to ensure a return to the Primera Liga.
