The Malta Championships, adopting Olympic-style competition rules, will be held at the main hall of the Naxxar Higher Secondary on April 25.

This will be the first official national championships organised by the Malta Boxing Federation.

The most heavily contested division will be the men's elite, 17 to 34 years, with the classes for 64kg, 69kg, 75kg and 81kg also showing an impressive entry list.

The participants will hail from six clubs and preparations for the championships have been going on since November, mainly through training camps in Malta and abroad.
