Edward Torpiano (May 16) should note that change is part of human existence.

I still stand by what I wrote before the April 12 general election, that it would have been more advantageous for Malta had the majority of the Maltese electorate voted for the Labour Party and its policy of partnership with the European Union.

The majority of the sovereign electorate decided otherwise and opted for the Nationalist Party and membership of the European Union instead. We Labourites cherish democracy and, therefore, respect the decision of the majority. In doing so, one also acknowledges that circumstances have changed and that the partnership versus membership debate is now closed.
