A 52-year-old man was yesterday charged with trying to burgle the house of a woman aged over 60 and causing damage at the house on Saturday afternoon.
Magistrate Giovanni Grixti heard Emmanuel Attard, 52, of Zebbug plead not guilty to trying to burgle Maria Leaver's Sliema house with another person whose identity is not known, at about 6 p.m.
Mr Attard also pleaded not guilty to threatening and assaulting two police officers and was remanded in custody.
Police Inspector Stephen Gatt prosecuted.
Dr Ian Farrugia appeared for Mr Attard.
