A 27-year-old man yesterday pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.

James Vella from Sta Venera pleaded not guilty to attempting to kill Simon Cassar when he seriously injured him in the neck with a glass.

Magistrate Silvio Meli refused Mr Vella bail and remanded him in custody.

Lawyer Franco Debono appeared for Mr Vella.

Lawyer Kris Busietta appeared for Mr Cassar.
