Charged with burglary

A Marsascala man was yesterday charged with burgling two houses in his hometown on Thursday.

Charlot Cutajar, 39, pleaded not guilty to stealing over Lm1,000 worth of items from Mario Ellul's house, stealing over Lm100 worth of items from Maria Grazia Farrugia's house and causing over Lm100 damage to both houses.

He also pleaded not guilty to handling stolen property and making a false declaration to a public authority.

Cutajar however pleaded guilty to attaching the registration numbers of a car onto another car, driving without a licence and insurance cover and relapsing.

Cutajar was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Jeffrey Cilia prosecuted.

Dr Leslie Cuschieri appeared as legal aid.
