Four Libyan men were yesterday charged with causing over Lm50 damage at the Hal-Far reception centre for illegal immigrants two weeks ago.
Abdul Hakim Gernout Omar, 30, Mohammed Sebah, 28, Shabel Farag Ali Atrag, 30, and Tahri Mohammed Mohtar, 31, pleaded not guilty to causing the damage on April 13, at about 4 a.m.
Gernout, Atrag and Mohtar were also charged with breaching the conditions of a previous release while Sebah was charged with relapsing.
They were remanded in custody.
Police Inspector Denise Mula prosecuted.
Dr Leon Bencini appeared for the defendants.
