A 39-year old Moroccan residing in St Paul's Bay was yesterday arraigned on rape charges.

Hamid El Faiq was charged by Inspectors Louise Calleja and Paul Bond with the rape of a 14-year-old youth and with having detained him against his will.

The accused was also charged with committing lewd acts.

A request for release on bail was denied by Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera.
