A man from Fgura was yesterday charged with running a brothel in Swieqi.

Charles Aquilina, 34, was accused of allowing a house at 10, Triq il-Qasam to be used for prostitution and with living off the earnings of prostitutes of foreign nationality on and before the night of June 4 and 5.

He was also charged with being in possession of a pistol without a licence.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.
