A Mosta man was yesterday charged with stealing a car and burgling a shop in Mosta last Wednesday.
Philip Abela, 37, pleaded not guilty to stealing Godwin Mifsud's car and causing more than Lm500 damage to it.
He was also accused of burgling Genesis and causing Lm50 damage to the detriment of John Camilleri, trying to burgle Mosta Electronics Hi-Fi Centre and causing Lm150 damage to the detriment of Joseph Zerafa.
Abela was further charged with damaging Michele Corney, John Camilleri and Joseph Vella's cars, driving recklessly and dangerously and without a licence or insurance cover.
He was remanded in custody.
Police Inspector Pio Pisani prosecuted.
