A 50-year-old man was yesterday charged with threatening his wife and four children and injuring his son in Birkirkara on Sunday.

Paul Micallef, of Birkirkara, was also charged with breaching the peace, failing to look after himself while drunk and the possession of a pointed instrument without a licence.

Micallef was denied bail.

Inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted.
