A Tarxien man was yesterday charged with threatening to kill his former partner, who he had allegedly stabbed on a previous occasion.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera heard James Demanuele, 31, plead not guilty to threatening to kill the woman, with whom he has a child, and causing between Lm50 and Lm500 of damage to her car on Saturday.

Mr Demanuele also pleaded not guilty to damaging the main door of her parent's home, breaching the peace and relapsing. He was remanded in police custody. Police Inspector Joseph Agius prosecuted.

Lawyer Daniela Chetcuti appeared for Mr Demanuele.
