Chelsea manager Avram Grant will be hoping that Ashley Cole is fit for this evening's Champions League final against Manchester United after injuring his ankle in training yesterday.

Although Cole rejoined the light session after having the ankle strapped, his place in the final could be in jeopardy.

United go into the game with no injury worries and start as slight favourites after pipping Avram Grant's men to the Premier League title earlier this month. United will also take the field driven by a passionate desire to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster and the 40th anniversary of their first European Cup success with their third triumph in the competition.

Chelsea will be desperate to win to show a further return on the hundreds of millions of pounds invested in the club by their billionaire Russian owner Roman Abramovich, by lifting the European Cup for the first time.

There is little to choose between the teams and the game could easily go to extra-time, as it did when Chelsea beat United 1-0 in the 2007 FA Cup final, or even to penalties.
