The musical CHESS produced by All for One Productions kicked off to a successful start last Saturday at the Aurora Opera House, in Victoria.
The musical, made up of 38 songs, features a 125-strong cast as well as popular Maltese performers, namely Fabrizio Faniello, Debbie Scerri, Mark Tonna, Joseph Aquilina and Pamela Bezzina, a pop choir made up of Eurovision song contestants, a 50-strong choir and a Russian orchestra led by Mro John Galea. The repertoire varies from rock, pop, classic to operatic as well as wonderful choral pieces intelligently woven together. Choreography is in the hands of Jes Sciberras and Bridgette Gauci Borda's School of Ballet.
The next two performances are due on Saturday and Sunday at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta. CHESS promoters have set up two ticketing booths at Sliema Ferries and in Valletta next to City Gate. Tickets are also available at the Mediterranean Conference Centre's booking office.
