Students from Stagecoach Theatre Arts schools are busy tuning their voices for the second annual Stagecoach Mega Concert, where they will belt out 23 songs from a wide variety of Broadway musicals and Disney films - all for charity.
The live concert will include songs from musicals like The Lion King, Tarzan, Mamma Mia, Rent, The King and I, and Fiddler On The Roof.
All Stagecoach students will be participating in the concert. Overall musical direction is in the hands of Ruth Sammut Casingena. Participating in this musical extravaganza are Edward Mercieca, Ruth Sammut Casingena, Matthew Anastasi, Coryse Borg, Christina Pullicino and Sonya Agius.
"We strongly believe that if children are lucky enough to come to Stagecoach then they should put their talents to good use and help raise money for children who are not so lucky," Stagecoach Malta senior principal Edward Mercieca said.
The proceeds from the mega concert will be going to children's charities Puttinu Cares and the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association (Malta).
The show promises to break last year's record for Malta for a concert of this size, in terms of the number of children on stage. The Stagecoach Mega Concert will take place on June 7 at 5.30 p.m. and on June 11 at 7.30 p.m. at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta. Tickets may be booked on 2559 5750/1 or via e-mail bookings@mcc.com.mt.
