The National Council of Women is holding a children's public hearing on the environment, in the Aula Magna, Old University Building, St Paul Street, Valletta, tomorrow, World Children's Day, at 5.30 p.m.
The event will bring together two initiatives: a drawing-cum-painting competition entitled "Making Malta a Better Place" held in summer for children attending Skola Sajf, and an essay competition entitled: "Our future depends on the state of the environment. What can you do to improve it?" for children between 9 and 14 years, attending state, Church and private schools.
Children will be invited to present their works and discuss their ideas on sustainable development with an adult audience. There will also be an exhibition of a number of children's entries; a booklet with the children's artworks and opinions will be distributed.
