Jesus may have already died and risen according to the liturgical calendar but that did not stop a crib exhibition being set up in Mosta.

The exhibition, organised by Għaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti, Għaqda Ħbieb tal-Presepju Għawdex and Lorry Gatt, has attracted thousands of visitors since it opened on May 14.

There is a logical explanation for the unorthodox timing of the exhibition, apart from attracting media attention.

Joe Bartolo, Talent Mosti's president, explained that it made sense because those who had their own crib on display during the Christmas period would usually be unable to visit other cribs because they would have to tend to their own exhibition.

The exhibition also ties in with a visit by a group of Italians who have this pastime at heart and who regularly exhibit their works in their own country. The Maltese crib makers have already visited their works in Rome and Naples and now it's the Italians' turn to have a look.

The show is being held at the Centre of National Culture, Razzett tal-Markiż Mallia Tabone, Wied il-Għasel Street, Mosta and runs until tomorrow.

It will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 6 to 9 p.m. Entrance to the exhibition is free and parking should not be a problem.
