Sliema went into festive gear last night when new Christmas lights and decorations were inaugurated.
On an initiative of Sliema local council in collaboration with the Sliema Business Community, the decorations grace seven of the town's streets, including the popular The Strand.
Present for the inauguration were Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, mayor Albert Bonello Du Puis, and Sliema's Business Community chairperson, Grace Borg.
As part of this year's activities, Sliema shoppers can participate in a lottery to win gift vouchers worth Lm1,000, Lm250, and Lm100.
Each retailer will have a sticker on the shopfront showing that they form part of the promotional activity, together with a poster explaining how to participate in the lottery.
Every receipt exceeding Lm5 and dated between December 1 and January 7 can be put into lottery boxes put up for the event.
