The Church has finished financial year 2013 with a deficit of €402,000, according to its financial accounts, published today.

Income from investments was of €5.197 million, from donations €7.543 million.

Other income, including from fees, fundraising and adverts amounted to €13.366 million. Capital profit from investments amounted to €1.09 million.

Most of the expenditure was on wages of lay people working within the Church (€12.099 million) and priests (€2.650 million).

A total of €3.132 million were spent on the upkeep of churches, €301,000 were given as charitable donations and €586,000 were paid in taxes. Church operation expenses reached €8.830 million.
