The Curia announced that there will be 1,529 places available in church schools next year, with applications open as from today.

For the current academic year, the Curia received 3,722 applications for 1,715 places.

According to the current criteria, preference is givento those who are in church homes, the children of church school employees, siblings of students at church schools, transfers from other schools of the same religious entity, as well as other specific criteria.

In January and February, applications will be received for those who have not yet started to attend school, and those who attend State and independent schools.

St Aloysius in Birkirkara will be offering co-education as from 2018, so both girls and boys will be taken into Kinder 2. The Curia also said that the Archbishop’s Seminary and Sacred Heart College would be considered as being run by the same religious entity – in this case, the Archbishop.
