The new Cirkewwa terminal is projected to cost €18.6 million but its completion date depends on when the contract is awarded, Infrastructure Minister Austin Gatt said in reply to a parliamentary question today.

Mepa issued a development permit last month.

The Mġarr terminal was completed in 2007 at a cost €11.8 million.

Last October, in reply to another question, Dr Gatt had given 2012 as the date of completion. While work is carried out, the terminal will continue operating by means of temporary structures.
