Maltese students sitting for the Chartered Insurance Institute's (UK) Insurance Foundation Certificate have outperformed international average pass-rates.

Emanuel Briffa, Joanna Busuttil, Michael Mifsud, Sanchia Gouder, Nicholas Warrington and Claudine Sultana successfully completed the two-part certificate programme. Most of the examinees sitting for these exams received tuition at the Malta International Training Centre (MITC).

Out of the 26 examinees, 18 passed, representing an overall pass-rate for Malta of just over 69 per cent. The performance of MITC students is marginally higher. Twenty-three of the 26 examinees received tuition at MITC and 16 (70 per cent) of them were successful.

MITC is the accredited examination centre of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and also runs training programmes leading to IFC, ICFA, CIP and ACII examinations.

In June and July tuition will re-commence at MITC for the Chartered Insurance Institute's October examination sessions.
