Club house extension

First of all, well done for explaining so well the situation at Tax-Xama ('Council warning about planned extension to club house', August 28). I have been informed by the drainage section that the building will be over two, not one, drainage mains.

First of all, well done for explaining so well the situation at Tax-Xama ('Council warning about planned extension to club house', August 28).

I have been informed by the drainage section that the building will be over two, not one, drainage mains. MEPA on the other hand argue that once they had the 'no objection' from the drainage section, they had authorised the building and could not take any action even though their attention to this had been drawn by the mayor of St Paul's Bay.

So who is to defend the rights of the thousands of residents whose houses are serviced by these mains? The Ombudsman? Who knows?

May I also add that contrary to the conditions in the permit, the beach is already not accessible to the public as it is full of soil and debris. A nice end to summer for users of this beach, isn't it?
