Stonyhurst College headmaster Adrian Aylward was presented with a commemorative certificate by Alan Curry, organiser of the Braveheart Life Cycle Challenge fund raising tour of Britain, in recognition of the support the college gave during the project.

The 28 cyclists taking part stayed at the college at the beginning and end of the tour.

Mr Curry, who works at the Jesuit college of St Aloysius, Birkirkara, organised the cycling trip around 1,100 miles of northern Britain, raising thousands of liri to help Maltese people with kidney disease and to raise awareness of Malta's Organ Transplant Support Group.

Young people from Malta are regularly pupils at Stonyhurst College.
